2020 Red Flint Firecracker Fest cancelled, will return in 2021

This is unlikely to come as a shock to anyone, but like so many other events that were scheduled during the coming months, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting social distancing requirements, the CORBA Board has made the decision to cancel the 2020 Red Flint Firecracker Fest.

This is particularly disappointing to us since this was going to be the first year with our enhanced, weekend-long festival that offered a wide variety of fun events to choose from, along with the festival atmosphere of camping, food trucks, beer tent and live band performances.

After discussion, we decided that even if restrictions were lifted in time to hold such an event at the end of June (which seems unlikely), there are so many things that need to be done between now and then that we just can’t justify spending the money and effort doing those things under these circumstances.

This will be a major blow to CORBA’s fundraising efforts for the year as this event is traditionally our largest source of revenue.

That said, we’d like to send out a huge thank you to our partner and title sponsor for the Firecracker Fest, Red Flint Sand and Gravel. Because they know that CORBA relies on this event to raise funds which enable us to do all of the work on the trails that we do, they have generously made a very sizable donation to CORBA anyway, and have also already committed to their title sponsorship once again for 2021. Their continued support is very much appreciated!

For those who have already registered for any of the events for the 2020 Firecracker Fest, your registration fees will be refunded.

Please rest assured that CORBA is committed now, more than ever, to bring a bigger and better Red Flint Firecracker Fest to our community in 2021 and we hope you will be eager to join us.
