Coon Fork 40 – Press Release

Red Flint Sand & Gravel Named Title Sponsor for Coon Fork 40 Gravel Bike Adventure

AUGUSTA, WI — The Chippewa Valley’s premier summer gravel cycling event, the Coon Fork 40, is officially returning to Coon Fork Lake County Park this August. Organizers have announced that local staple Red Flint Sand & Gravel has stepped up as the title sponsor for this year’s ride, cementing a partnership focused on community, outdoor recreation, and welcoming riders of all backgrounds to the backroads of Eau Claire and Clark Counties.

The event features three distinct, chip-timed routes—28, 45, and 88 miles—that traverse deep pine forests, scenic Wisconsin waterways, and historic Amish farm country. Beginning and ending at Coon Fork Lake, the event promises a true “beach-to-beach” experience, complete with an energetic beachside after-party featuring music, food, and beverages.

As the ride grows into a regional favorite, Event Director and CORBA Board Member, Phil Carlson, emphasizes that the event’s core mission is inclusivity.

“The Coon Fork 40 is built to serve every kind of rider,” says Phil. “Whether this is your very first gravel event, you’re here to push your limits and compete at the front, or you are just joining us for the vibe, there is a place for you here. This event is a celebration of the cycling community.”

With Red Flint Sand & Gravel taking the helm as title sponsor, the event is uniquely positioned to highlight the deep roots of the local West-Central Wisconsin community.

“Red Flint Sand & Gravel is incredibly proud to support the Coon Fork 40 this year. As a company deeply rooted in the Eau Claire and Augusta areas, we love seeing events that bring people together to enjoy our beautiful local landscape. We look forward to seeing everyone out on the gravel routes this August!” says Paul Ayres, CEO of Red Flint Sand & Gravel.

Registration for the Coon Fork 40 is currently open. Riders of all levels, using any style of bike with wider tires (gravel, mountain, fat tire, or modified road bikes), are encouraged to sign up early, as the event is nearing its capacity.
