Chippewa Valley Trail User Groups & Friends of CORBA
CORBA is one of many Chippewa Valley organizations that promote the use of our excellent trail systems. Find more local user groups and parks to get involved in Chippewa Valley cycling, cross country skiing, and trail running.
Eau Claire Youth Cycling
ECYC believes in mountain biking as a path to getting young people outdoors, active, and involved in the community, whether through racing, exploration, social rides, trail work, or play. As a part of the fastest growing sport in Wisconsin, ECYC participates in the Wisconsin Interscholastic Cycling League and the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA).
Valley Girls Cycling Club
The Valley Girls Cycling Club is advancing women’s engagement in cycling through education, opportunity and support in the Chippewa Valley. Providing an inclusive community, reducing barriers, and increasing accessibility through rides, events, social outings, and more.
906 Adventure Team
The Eau Claire County Chapter of 906AT is a dedicated group of volunteers who empowers kids to discover the best version of themselves through outdoor adventure. Operating from a Basecamp at Lowes Creek County Park, they are a non-competitive mountain biking group for kids ages 5-17, offering a program that challenges them individually and promotes self-growth.
Chippewa Valley Trail Runners
Chippewa Valley Trail Runners is an inclusive and social group of folks who enjoy running trails in the area, bringing together people of all abilities due to their mutual love of the trails. CVTR hosts weekly group runs as well as their annual “Dirt Series” of volunteer-led fun runs of various distances (and seriousness.) The group was created as a means for area trail runners to get together for occasional fun runs on area trails, to help each other prepare and train for upcoming trail races, and to “share resources” such as carpooling to regional trail races.
Pinehurst Park / OutdoorMore, Inc.
Pinenhurst Park is a local bikepark and snowpark destination for Chippewa Valley residents of all ages, created and maintained by OutdoorMore, Inc in partnership with the City of Eau Claire. Facilities available include Progressive Mountain Bike Trails and Dirt Jumps, Disc Golf, Playground, Hockey Rink, General Skating Rink, Sledding Hill, Hiking Ski & Snowboard Terrain Park Area, and Lighted Cross Country Ski Trails. They strive to create a valuable community asset where any resident or visitor can have fun and stay active all year long through a variety of outdoor recreational activities.
Friends of Hickory Ridge
Over the last 30 plus years, with support from Chippewa County Parks and thousands of volunteer hours, more than 16 miles of Nordic ski and 20 miles of mountain bike trails (groomed for fat bikes in winter) were built. Today Hickory Ridge Trail has ambitious facility upgrade plans and offers users an incredible opportunity to explore the rolling terrain along kettle lakes in the Chippewa County Forest.
Bike Chippewa Valley
Bike Chippewa Valley is a volunteer driven organization building on existing partnerships between citizens, businesses and local government in the Chippewa Valley to encourage more people to bike more often and promote progress towards making bicycling accessible for everyone.
Chippewa Valley Composite MTB Team
The Chippewa Valley Composite MTB Team is on a mission to build strong minds, bodies, characters, and communities through cycling. They welcome middle and high school student riders from Augusta, Cadott, Chippewa Falls, Eleva-Strum, Elk Mound, Fall Creek, Rusk County, Stanley-Boyd, Wildlands Charter School, and other schools within a reasonable radius to the Chippewa Valley.
Wisconsin NICA
Wisconsin Interscholastic Cycling League is a not for profit organization, is dedicated to establishing the sport of Mountain Biking in Wisconsin High Schools. Chapters exist in the Chippewa Valley in Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, Elk Mound, and more. More than 500 athletes and their families converge on Lowes Creek in September each year for their Crush the Creek race and festival.
Ski Striders
Eau Claire Ski Striders mission is to promote recreational cross-country skiing and citizen racing for adults and youth alike. Ever since the club was founded in 1973, the Eau Claire Ski Strider’s focus has been on family, fun, and fitness. Their vision continues to promote and enhance cross-country skiing for youth and adults by leading successful efforts to build facilities, improve amenities, expand access, and develop youth. Activities include meetings, training programs, social gatherings, ski races, and working for the progress and maintenance of area ski trails.
Chippewa Valley Nordic
Chippewa Valley Nordic is a high school and middle school ski club with a mission to provide an opportunity for area students to learn, train, compete, and have fun cross country skiing. Focus is on improving technique and training for competition in the Wisconsin Nordic Ski League.
Kickin’ Kids Youth Ski League
Kickin’ Kids is an annual eight-week program open to children ages 4-17 of all abilities. It teaches not only cross-country skiing skills but also winter safety, group participation, and the techniques learned can also be used in downhill skiing and ski jumping. The program provides opportunity for skill development, fitness, fun, and family participation, as parents are encouraged to ski along!
