October 30 – November 6, 2021
The Fall Back Blast is going hybrid for 2021. Participants will have the option once again to choose their day, time, events, and weather over the 7 day event. BUT for 2021, there will be an in-person option on Saturday, November 6!
There will be four distance events to choose from. You can do one distance, do all of the distances, or anything in between during the virtual week. You can also create your own off-site (not eligible for cash awards) if you cannot get to Eau Claire. Of course, you’ll have to choose your distance for the in-person race.
We will also need volunteers for course setup, take down, and daily course checks at Lowes Creek. Volunteers will also be needed for the “in-person” portion of the event on Saturday, November 6.
For the 2021 Fall Back Blast virtual & in-person races, we are bringing back the original 12.5K course! Follow the yellow signs.
You can choose to run any time during the week and we’ll let you know where and how to submit your results. Available distance are:
1 Loop – 12.5K
2 Loops – 25K
3 Loops – 37.5K
4 Loops – 50K
Awards will be provided for the winners (male and female) for each of the distances. You can run each distance separately throughout the week, but can only win an award for one of the distances. If you choose to do all four distances throughout the week (is there anyone crazy enough?), we will provide a very special additional award for that. We’re calling that the “Crazy Blaster Challenge”. We also are including the Over The Top category. This is for the person who wants to see how many laps they can do in one effort.
5K: We will also have a 5k for those exploring trail running. This will be both a virtual event and in-person on race day. Follow the 5k signs. Awards for the in person event will go to the top male and female, as well as the top male and female masters runners. No awards will be given for the virtual 5k.
Do you and your dog enjoy exploring the woods and trails at Lowes Creek County Park? Then the event for you is to take your furry friend(s) out for a walk and record your time and distance (if you know it). This is a non-competitive event and you will be eligible for door prizes.
When you register, there is no need to choose your event for the virtual option. For the in-person race, be sure to choose the right ticket (please read the ticket options carefully). You will simply register once, and you can participate in any or all of the events. You will participate at your convenience during the 7 day period between October 30 and November 5. Plus you have the option of racing in person on Saturday, November 6 if you choose that option.
Registration fees will be by donation* for the virtual option…you choose the level that you would like to, and are able to, give, keeping in mind that the Fall Back Blast is one of CORBA’s main fundraising events of the year.
We are asking our trails community to be as generous as they can be for the trails that we all love to use. But we also understand that the ongoing issues with the pandemic and the resulting disruptions has hit some of us harder than others, so if things are tight, we still want to provide you with the opportunity to participate in the fun!
When you submit your registration, you will receive a confirmation email with more information within about an hour (usually much sooner). If you don’t see it, please check your spam folders and if you still don’t see it, let us know and we’ll get it to you.
If you can’t be in Eau Claire during this time, we welcome your participation using any 12.5K course you create, wherever you are. This option will not qualify for the winners awards, but this is a way to still participate and help support the trails. Register the same way below and you will be provided with information on how to submit your results.

Participation in the virtual option is by voluntary donation to help support the trails that we all love to run. You are welcome to participate at no cost by registering for the free ticket, but if you’d like a great shirt (that everyone loved last year), your donation of $25.00 or more will include the shirt (same shirt as last year, with a different quote and a different color). We are asking for a minimum $30.00 donation to participate in the in-person option, and that does include the 2021 Fall Back Blast shirt and a commemorative finisher’s medal.
